WELCOME

The physicians and medical professionals at Sturdy Hematology & Oncology Associates are committed to providing the highest quality health care to our patients. The following are some of the services we offer: office consultations, bone marrow biopsies, phlebotomy, and we treat all ranges of cancer as well as blood disorders.

What is Hematology?
Hematology is the medical specialty that focuses on blood disorders. Included in this area are both benign blood disorders and blood cancers. Examples of commonly treated disorders include leukemias, lymphomas, anemia, and clotting disorders.

What is Oncology?
Oncology is the branch of medicine that treats cancer. Medical oncologists are specifically trained to administer chemotherapy as medicine for the treatment of cancer. This usually involves solid tumors but there is overlap with hematologic malignancies. Many of these specialists are trained in both hematology and oncology. Cancer care often uses a multidisciplinary approach to treat cancer and involves medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, nurses, and nutritionists.
